There were 17,260 cosmetic brands and a 25million women population in Korea in 2019. What you can search and discover in the US market is already gone through all the competition in the Korean market. Additionally, the US market is super competitive since other brands from all over the world come to the market to compete. Obviously, what you see in Amazon and other cosmetic platforms are survivors and filtered as qualified products.

We do not take K-beauty as the best product in the world, but it could be one of the best trends in the cosmetic industry.

K-beauty skincare products are known for:

  1. Sheet masks, air cushion compacts, snail creams and BB creams are originated from Korea.
  2. Longer and multi-step routine - K-beauty skincare routine could be 8-10 steps to even 19 steps depends on K-beauty brands
  3. Special ingredients - Vitamin C, Centella Asiatica, Sanil Mucin, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Green Tea, Bamboo Extract, Propolis and PDRN Salmon DNA are the most well-known Korean skincare ingredients. Not all of them are originated from Korea but got popular in Korean skincare products such as essence and serum.

It's no real surprise that K-beauty has been on the main stage for years when it comes to skincare and it will have new trends within K-beauty itself.
